Antioch High School Bands
INFO
Welcome
Welcome to the online home for the Antioch Community High School Band program. Our school has a proud tradition of excellence in the performing arts, and we look forward to growing these programs every year. Students here have the opportunity to perform in several ensembles and learn about all styles of music. The wind ensembles learn an extensive repertoire of music. The Jazz Ensemble and jazz combos perform in our community and throughout the Midwest. The Marching Sequoits compete among the best marching bands in the state every year, and continue to develop new and entertaining shows every year.
With the help of the entire Fine Arts staff in District 117 we will continue this tradition of excellence, and service our students by giving them a Fine Arts Education second to none.

Standards Based Grading
The D117 Performing Arts Department is moving to Standards Based Grading (SBG) in order to create more useful student assessment and more efficiently and effectively measure student growth, based on the new national standards for music.
Grades are based on what you know and what you can do in relation to National Standards for the Performing Arts. A student’s grade will consist of scores on several Summative Assessments, as it is important to have multiple opportunities to demonstrate what you know and can do. Grades will be given for each standard, rather than students receiving a grader for "homework." Students can track what skills they need to develop in their gradebook, and can more easily focus on things they need to improve.
